DESCRIPTION:Moving Mandala: The Awakening \nEcstatic Dance Journey in the Sanctuary \nAwaken what’s stirring with a luminous ecstatic dance journey—intentional warm-up\, deep dance wave\, live music\, & sound bath in a stained-glass sanctuary. \nDear Community\, \nIf you’ve ever felt the call to move your body without being watched\, judged\, or told how—this invitation is for you. \nOn Friday\, March 6\, we gather in the luminous sanctuary of Trinity Memorial Church for Moving Mandala: The Awakening—a guided ecstatic dance journey designed for everyone\, including those who have never danced like this before. \nYou don’t need dance experience.\nYou don’t need to be “good at moving.”\nYou don’t need to know what to expect. \nYou only need a body—and a willingness to listen to it. \nSo… what is ecstatic dance? \nEcstatic dance is simply moving however your body wants to move\, guided by music\, breath\, and shared presence. There’s no choreography\, no talking\, no substances\, and no phones. It’s a respectful\, inclusive\, sober container where people of all ages\, bodies\, backgrounds\, and orientations are welcome. \nFor many\, it becomes a powerful form of movement medicine:\n– a way to release stress held in the body\n– a way to reconnect to sensation and aliveness\n– a way to process emotion without words\n– a way to feel part of something larger\, without losing yourself \nMoving Mandala is especially intentional.\nThe evening unfolds as a complete\, gently guided arc: \nWe begin by gathering in circle—arriving together and grounding in the body.\nWe warm and awaken the nervous system through simple\, accessible movement.\nWe enter a deep\, DJ-guided ecstatic dance wave\, with live instrumentation woven in to add texture and soul.\nAnd we close by landing together in stillness\, integration\, and sound. \nNothing is forced.\nEverything is invitational.\nYou are always welcome to rest\, observe\, or move in your own way. \nThe theme of The Awakening reflects this seasonal moment—late winter giving way to spring\, and the lunar year of the Fire Horse stirring courage\, momentum\, and creative life force.
